A little about me... | Central West Photographer
I thought is was about time I told you all a little about me!
I'm born and bred a country girl, growing up on a fine wool merino sheep property in the Central Tablelands of NSW. Our property there has some amazing scenery with steep bush and boulder covered hills on part of the property that we used to explore regularly as kids. The views are amazing and inspired my love for landscape photography.
I'm 35 (and am getting the odd grey hair, ugh!), single, no kids, love the farm life and have truly found my happy place with photography.
My Dad introduced me to photography when I was a teenager, teaching me how to use his old film slr camera. As soon as I had my driver's licence, I carted a camera everywhere and have photo albums full of photographs of horses, sheds, ruins and all sorts of random things that caught my eye from the car. When I finished uni, I went out into the real world, got a job in the agricultural industry (which I am absolutely passionate about!) and my photography was put to the side. Then a couple of years ago I bought my first digital slr, I had a couple of friends starting to pursue their own careers in photography and I was introduced to the very talented Clare Stephens from Your Life Through a Lens Photography and her photography business breakthrough mentoring program...
That eventually lead to a complete career change! I felt like I was treading water, waiting for something great to happen, both personally and professionally, so... I quit my high pressure job with a corporate agricultural company (I still miss my clients and work mates!), bought a little farm and pursued my dream job in my own photography business. I always thought that by the time I was 30 I would be married to a country boy and having kids...well, that hasn't happened yet so I'm doing the farm thing all by myself! As for kids, I get my fix by spoiling my close friend's kids heehee!
Many times lately I've been asked, "Why Eugowra?", well...
I love a small town. I love the Central West. I love that I could afford a little farm here!
Even though I didn't know a soul here when I bought my little farm, I have never felt so welcome in a community. I feel like I have come home, so Eugowra, you are officially adopted as my new hometown!
I have lots of exciting projects and ideas to get off the ground this year, so stay tuned!
